Liebe Yogis,
TIme and time again while going on my regular walks through the woods i´ve spent moment compiling a newsletter in my mind, only to then completely scrap
it off my list again. Mostly because the conversation becomes rather heated and therefore unproductive. These conversations naturally go for and against everything
what is happening right now in the world concerning you know what. And ultimately adding my opinion to the noise is not helpful, and potentially harmful - yet i would love to share
just a few things that have been on my mind lately.
Everyone is effected by this pandemic...whether directly or indirectly, and a really good solution seems far off. I am mostly trying to stay positive and hopeful for a humanity that needs
a fundamental shift in how we live on mother earth. Parts of me believe corona is here to show us deeper issues that have for way too long been swept under the carpets - be they
environmental, social, or political. I also believe that a growing awareness is building in momentum behind the scenes and we are in for some exciting times ahead. We are awakening.
The big journey of a yogi is to question before concluding. To be open minded to others´opinions especially if they rub up against your own opinion. This is challenging when one is
convinced that their opinion is the RIGHT one because they can and have `fact checked´it through apparently the right internet channels. We are most definitely in a world where
alot is being censored to the point where (at least i) we no longer know what to believe. Having a critical mind is essential in these times - yet even then i fear we may be being fooled.
How do we move forward? I think if we start with compassion thats a good place to begin. Having compassion for every human being on the planet trying to do what they think is best
for their family, friends and humanity. These people might be right, wrong, fooled, deluded, convinced, spiritually awakening or deceived, trying to survive, thriving, sick, healthy, a mother, a wife,
financially ok, financially ruined...... and the list goes on. We are all here together trying to make the most of our situation. My point is, before you judge another for their thoughts and feelings and decisions, see them as a human being with compassion and your heart and mind will soften. They are doing what they think is best.
I meditate daily - to settle the monkey mind and to help infuse my cells with the energy and will to keep on going with a hopeful and positive outlook. I visualise being back in the shala and
hugging you all- literally. We become very deprived of the love and nurturing hormones when we abstain from human touch. We need human touch. A new born baby who is not held often dies.
It is essential to not just surviving on planet earth, but thriving here. This does in no way mean i am defying the current regulations - it just means i am looking deeper into the potential consequences if this continues for too much longer. And this is only one of the many potential consequences. Indeed we are seeing colateral damage everywhere we look right now and it is heart breaking.
I do not claim to have the answers.... only suggestions to keep moving forward fearlessly:
- move through life with compassion for all and everyone (even politicians are human)
- meditate daily - keep your mind strong, even if it means sitting and feeling like crying the whole time - sit and breathe.... and know that this too shall pass
- go out and have fun...get away from the noise ( i know tyroleans can do that easily!!!)
- eat healthy - staying strong in the body
- develop a critical mind....keep asking the questions
- do what feels right for you and let others do what feels right for them
- get enough sleep
- drink less coffee - this will help you to calm your mind and stay more even tempered throughout the day
- move your body
- cuddle someone at least every day
- visualise a bright future....the future YOU want to see in the world....
......................................... what can you add to this list? send me your thoughts!
ONLINE YOGA
We are still teaching weekly classes online....as many of you know. We have decided to be on instagram as this offers the easist, fastest way for you to access the classes...without additional
sign in links, sign ups, prepayments etc..... This does however mean that we rely totally on your donations to help us through these long long months. Thankyou so much for your donation! If you have not yet donated for the classes you attend, please consider to do so....How valuable have the classes been for you? We give you the decision as this is our way of saying - we trust you. Of course like everyone, we do get some govt. support but i will add that this is slow in coming. Your support really makes a difference at this time. And without saying, your attendance brightens my day tremendously and keeps me going too!!!
Until next time.... so much love to you all,
Kira (and Lucas)
