Liebe Yogis,
Indeed, its been a long time since we have seen each other personally. If you are on Instagram you will have seen my christmas wishes and such and know
that i haven´t forgotten you! I´m also aware that many of you don´t want to practice online, and therefore i´m here to wish you a Merry Christmas and good vibes
for the coming year. For sure we need some good vibes!
No matter whom i speak to, there is always another perspective to consider about these unfamiliar times. In my opinion, the most important thing we can do is to
keep our own minds strong and healthy. What have you been doing to stay mentally strong? I have been meditating daily and it´s been truly a wonder to witness how
well i´m managing, considering our means for living have been challenged to say the least. You may also wonder, `doesn´t she meditate daily anyways?´ - and im the first to admit, no..... to sit and make the time each day for an hour is not always achievable, and that´s ok. However now, i have made a personal commitment to sit as priority. And i love that time of the day. It nourishes my heart and soul, my brain, my muscles....every single cell is nourished. It makes me feel more willing to give, to share, to love, to accept, to know ill be ok, to know the shala will be ok, to know our planet will get through this and perhaps be better off in the long run - who knows? For sure it makes me less fearful of the present and future unknown. It is way better to walk around in love than in fear. If it´s easy to think negative thoughts, then surely i can rewire my brain to think and BE more positive too. It really comes down to a choice. It is a daily practice. Because each day the devil (those unwanted thoughts) wants to come in and make havoc again. And each day, i consciously say NO. In the beginning it IS an effort, but slowly and with having a keen inner gaze it is becoming second nature to sweep those negative thoughts out the door.
And thanks to my self practice, my family reep the rewards too - i am kinder, more considerate, more loving, more relaxed and if challenges in the home front arise, im also better able to cope with and support them. But may i remind you, it is a practice, a conscious decision. November felt like the spiritual month, December has been somewhat more practical.... I have been busy being creative - updating our homepage (its not done but you will see a difference if you click around) and well, preparing for christmas. With children around you can´t help but be drawn into the spirit and fun of it. Those of you attending Instagram classes will know what i mean. The fun and sometimes rediculous side of Kira came out to play, and i hope you weren´t laughing at me but with me!!!! Truly i have been having alot of fun with these online classes. Yet nevertheless i am very much looking forward to teaching live again. Online serves the current purpose, but long term don´t we want to connect more? Hug more? See and share smiles more? I very much hope so.
When the devil pops in i fear you will have forgotten the shala.... when the angel appears she softens me and lets me know that the shala is special, and students know that, and i know that too. As the shala stands alone, cold and empty, the energy of the past still lingers and i know within my heart that the space will be filled once more with your beautiful faces and your energy. I hope sooner rather than later but i have learnt not to grasp for the future with stress, but rather to visualise what i want for the future and simultaneously feel that emotionally in my body. With this energy, magic will happen - i know it.
