Liebe Yogis,
The one thing, which may or may not be comforting is the absolute truth of change. (And here, when i talk of change-ill mean things like a job change, moving overseas, day to day routine changes and so on.... ) Sometimes we welcome change - like a warm summers day after a bout of rain.
Other times we would love to just hide under the blankets and let the change flow somewhere else. When we balance on a tight rope, not knowing which way the wind will blow it can be pretty scary, and darn right disruptive to our state of mind. When a decision needs to be made, we hover within the misty clouds waiting for firm ground.This hovering is one of my personal challenges, for there within lies my anxiety, my worries, my fears and doubts. For every pathway will have a ripple effect...it creates a momentum, a force perhaps like a rollercoaster - and once we are on that track there might not be any getting off for a while. Yet if we remain in the space of non-doing we may become stagnant, lost within our own indecision and life literally passes us by. If you are in the throws of making a life-changing decision, it might be to your benefit not to pause for too long. So how long do we wait ? The answer may frustrate one even more, for `how long is a piece of string´??
When change feels positive it is like a surge of adrenalin mixed with the love hormone oxytocin - the right dose that boosts us with energy, and when we fly over every obstacle, we feel renewed and in love with life. Change can be a welcome breath of fresh air.
When change is challenging it may funnel us into a kind of depression. Change is unknown territory and if it is of our own doing, what if it is the wrong decision? How will we cope? After the initial shock has passed, if you tend to be someone who is more optimistic you will quickly list all the reasons why this (what ever it is) might be a good thing afterall. If you are generally more pessimistic life might feel pretty heavy for a while. Where are you on this scale? Noticing your reactions and actions to change will soon give you a pretty good idea.
Interestingly enough our reactions and actions are also in constant flux - and we can choose to mould them to our benefit and live more skilfully through the change. It is all a matter of choice.
And leaving with you a beautiful quote i once read, `There are no failed experiments, only unexpected outcomes !´

Shala changes:
We knew it was short lived (for she is an adventurer) - our co-teacher Carri will be moving (back) to Texas end Sept.We will miss her vibrant personality and her get up and go attitude to life. Every time i was in her presence for sure within 3 minutes i would be laughing. Her smile is intoxicating and her warm energy so lovely to be around.
She will continue to sub. on the occasion where needed until end Sept. but her regular Lunch class will no longer happen.
